We are about to get a motability car which includes insurance.
I have just sold my old car and cancelled my insurance , I have 4 years NCB.
Will the motability insurance count for NCB ? it is a 3 year deal so I should have 7 years NCB at the end of the motability lease if it counts.

Hi Eddie

If you are now having a motability car now how likely are you not to have another one.
My friend likes it because if he could not suddenly drive he just has to return the car and he is not liable for any more payments.
That said I know people who qualified for a company car where I worked. When they retired Liverpool Victoria gave them a full NCB on receiving confirmation from our employer there had been no accidents in the last 5 years.
It may be worth asking them.

I know driving a company car can qualify you for NCB but I have heard that Motability insurance does not , the Motability scheme is changing from next year so I'm not sure if we will get another car after this one.
Hi, my father has one of these and you get no NCB. Their insurance is different to most. When he comes to visit I have to be put onto his insurance to be able to drive it as even though I have fully comp on my own and can drive other cars with consent it doesn't apply to a motability car.
theshedman, that's because the owner of the car, Motability, haven't given consent for you to drive it.
Yes didn't think of that one as I suppose it's them that actually own it. Brain not in gear first thing in the morning.

Yes that is what I thought , you don't get NCB but Motability will release the claims history to another insurer. The insurers are RSA and I just found it on their web site.
