Hi, can anyone help?  Four months ago I was leaving work and appeared to have some sort of seizure.  I have been told that I can't drive for a year and surrendered my licence.  My car insurance is due for renewal at the end of this month ( I still have car parked in garage ).  I phoned the car insurance company at the time of my seizure and earlier this week when I got my renewal form to inform them of the incident and to see if it would make any difference to my premiums and they informed me that it wouldn't.  Does anyone know if this is usual? Thanks

hi sanlou26 sorry to hear about your seizure hope your feeling better. About your insurance, do you want to renew it so as it's still covered whilst it is parked in your garage? If so check with your insurance company to see if the do something called laid up cover which gives you fire and theft cover only(as oposed to third party fire and theft). You having the seizure would not effect the premium as they cannot discriminate for this hope this helps some

Hi amron, feeling much better thanks. I will be on the phone to the insurance company tomorrow.  Thanks for the advice
i was told that if u can prove that u were with an insurance company in the last 4 years then it can be carried on from the time u last with them, after 4 years u have to start as a new customer. That was from directline (little red phone on wheels)
