What exactly is it for.
Due to OH's condition we decided to cancel our two abroad holidays.
The one in Brittany cancelled ok because we had only paid the deposit.
The one near Paris, we had paid full amount and they won't cancel. So we got on to Staysure. They will not reimburse us for the deposit and the full amount.
They do not pay out for cancellations even when it is on health grounds.
So the Paris one we are letting it carry on and we will see what happens nearer the time. But his insurance runs out next month and obviously it will be very very expensive to get cover again.

Caran.....there are companies who will insure you with an existing condition. MrG used them and they weren't expensive at all.....

Have a google....I'd look for you but I'm not at home just now.....x
Sorry I don't know what your OH condition is but was he told not to go on holiday by his GP/specialist?

When you took out the insurance did you check the T&C's?
Hi Caran, check this site, "Insurewith" xx
I know there were some insurers suggested on the other thread, so do try them and don't give up on the holiday just yet Caron.

Unless of course Mr C is not up to it. In that case you need a doctors confirmation at time of travel that he cannot go. They will then refund but not at this early stage.
there are company's that insure people with existing health issues, maybe one of the comparison websites might help with finding one. Also have you checked you don't need to inform your current insurer of a change in health status. You might find they wouldn't pay out anyway if you needed to claim for an ongoing illness you've not told them about.
I think Caran is asking why Staysure wouldn't pay out when they chose to cancel Paris ie what's the point of insurance? I suppose read the T&Cs before you choose.
