Bbc Quiz : Week 35
Good evening, once again!
(Can it really be a whole week since we last did this? They say that time goes faster when you're older but we now seem to have reached somewhere well beyond Star Trek's Warp Factor 9!)
It's been one of my better weeks in the quizzes (aided by a lot of lucky guesses, of course!), with a score of FIVE out of seven in the main quiz
https:/
. . . and THREE out of five in the junior one

Your turn!

I have a theory about time going faster as we age. We subconciously measure it as a proportion of how much we've experienced in total. For example, for a 5 year old, the next year is 20% of past experience, but for an 80 year old the next year is just 1.25% of past experience. Eat your heart out Einstein.
Ruddy 'eck! I've tied with the mighty Lie-in King this week!
(Well done anyway, LiK. I still can't beat you!)
Well done on being quite childlike this week, Maggie 😊
That's all very deep for a Friday evening, Canary42!
(Decent enough scores, anyway though!)
Well done with that decent 5/7, Arky!
Good evening, Haras2. My guesses are frequently unlucky - especially when choosing lottery numbers! I hope that you'll have a good weekend.
Hi, 10CS! When I first started including the junior quiz each Friday evening, I was worried that people would find it far too easy. However it never seems to work out that way! (Well done with that 5/7, anyway!)
Well you've beaten me this week, buen. 4/7 and 3/5.... I don't like to say how many were guesses. 😑
Hope all of you are lively and active. We had an unpleasant dog-attack on Tyke on Sun. afternoon when he was being walked (on the lead) past our local pub - a dog (whose owner had just her foot on the lead in the beer garden) shot out and went for him! Being a retired street-fighter Tyke gave better than he got (even when handicapped by a lead) but it has reinforced his'fear-aggression' and since then he's been a nightmare to take out. He nearly had OH over the other day when a strange dog appeared. :(
Fingers crossed that this improves, but he is now 16, so my hopes are low. Have a lovely weekend - and thanks for the poetry advice. :)
Hi, Jourdain2!
Well done on two 'bang in the middle' scores!
I hope that a few lovely walks, in areas where there are lots of things for a dog to sniff and where there aren't too many other dogs around, will help to relax poor old Tyke very soon.
You've reminded me that I really must get my performance poetry website online soon. (Karamia asked me for it ages ago). Then you can find out just how rubbish my stuff is when compared to your own masterpieces!
6/7,4/5. Actually knew some this week...had a jolly time in Naseby with my niece last Sunday, we got round the half marathon last week just outside her target time, you could count the number of people we finished ahead of on one hand , but we got there!! Tomorrow is a day refereeing at a football tournament, just one more week at work before a short trip to Norfolk. Bailey has decided it is getting colder so needs more cuddles, Puss Puss is adventuring. Am on Norman and Magic duty again this week. Hope all is good with you and yours.
Hi, Campbellking!
Well done on two 'near perfect' scores this week, taking you right to the top of the tree!
Well done on finishing the Battlefield Run! I wish that I was still young enough, and fit enough, to have joined you! (I was absolute rubbish at PE and Games at school, with the sole exception of distance running. During my own football refereeing days, I'd typically complete three training runs - each of about half marathon length - every week. These days though I can struggle just to walk around the aisles of a supermarket 😫 ).
I hope that you'll get some decent breaks during your day of refereeing tomorrow. (I once officiated at a youth tournament in Belgium, where the organisers had me down to referee one match, then immediately switch to running a line on a second match before refereeing a third one straight away, and so on. The idea that their officials might actually appreciate a break occasionally didn't seem to have occurred to them!)
When you visit those strange folk up in Norfolk, I hope that you'll visit us here in Suffolk. (We're currently allowing day trippers to cross the border without too many formalities. You don't even need a visa at the moment!)
Bailey must be related to Chequers, I think. Chequers also seems to be moving into 'winter mode' (despite the wam weather that we've been having recently), demanding more time cuddled up next to me on my bed and more time curled up on my knee. I hope that Puss Puss doesn't stray too far away when 'adventuring'. (I only need to lose sight of any of mine for a few minutes before I start panicking!)
All the best to you, Bailey, Puss Puss, Norman and Magic for a lovely week ahead!
Good Evening, Chris!
My scores tonight are
4/7, 3/5
Glad to hear you are still looking to get your performance poetry website up and running. That would be lovely to see.
Not sure why Chequers is in Winter mode as I feel the weather is definitely getting warmer again. We are back to having fans whirring through the night to cool off.
I have been busy this week working on revamping my garage. I had a wonderful decorator paint everything white - door, ceiling, walls. I then laid black floor tiles and am now busy putting flat pack shelves together in the living room. I will enjoy the weekend when I get to reorganise everything and hopefully have a very clean tidy space.
Wishing you and the bonkers bunch a wonderful week ahead :-)
Well done, indeed, Scorpiojo!
That's the first perfect 7 that we've had for many months!!!
Hiya, Karamia!
Well done on joining Jourdain2 with double 'bang in the middle' scores tonight!
I've spent much of the past few months planning a 'special event' amateur radio station, which I got on air over the bank holiday weekend. Now that I've got that out of the way, I can get back to working on my performance poetry (and on the website for it).
The reason that Chequers is in 'winter mode' is simply that he's a big, daft softy, who just enjoys a cuddle!
Your garage seems to be getting a 'Scandinavian-style makeover', as far as I can tell! (I'm a hoarder-among-hoarders, so I've never got enough space for anything!).
The Bonkers Bunch and I send your our very best wishes for a wonderful week ahead!
