We have an overhead electricity cable running on top of our property and I am just wondering if we can claim for a compensation from the electric company beacuse few years back I had the property valued and they said I will loss 10%-15% of the value of the property because of the cable on top. What can I do? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Look on the bright side. If it was there when you bought the house, the house would have to be discounted in value by 10%-15% when you bought. So you got more house for the same money.
if the power line is a single line leading to a house - i.e not a main grid line - you can ask the company to move the line. I believe they are required to do so if it is at all possible
