if your home insurance company insist on sending their own contractors to do repairs after water damage can you demand that you choose your own builders instead?
also the insurance companies loss adjuster cant even come to assess damage until 8 days time is this a reasonable lenghth of time to wait when my kitchen and bathroom is in a mess?

Who are you insured with and what incident have you suffered?
the upstairs toilet cistern overflowed damaging bathroom floor etc and room below ceiling and walls. i had already replaced ball valve before they sent a plumber the plumber only had to re connect the pipe to cistern which he did in about three minutes but instead of waiting a couple of minutes to check for leaks he went and the pipe leaked i had to wait in for several hours the next day for plumber to come back to mend leak. each time he came i signed work sheet i noticed he wrote down 2 hours work which it only took a few mins. the plumber works for same contractor that is going to do rest of work. there,s two reasons i want my own contractors (1) i would choose someone i know with good reputation. (2) they would send surveyor immediately and start work before 8 days.
