Insuring a car

I am currently purchasing a small, economic second hand car for �2,500 - �3,000 and will need to insure it. As a 23 year old male are there any specific companies that may provide the best deal? Thanks.

In general steer clear of the sort of all the big ones, they make their money by giving cheap premiums to low risk groups (older with long no claims). By all means give them a go but they are likely to be high. I can't remeber what its called but there is a site where you enter the details once and they check with loads of brokers and return the prices.

Try CIS (Coop Insurance Services, noted for cheap insurance for young people. Another really excellent company that has given my 21 year old son a very good deal is AXA Insurance, Darlington

the post office have also just started doing car insurance, my wife a insurance broker, thinks they are really cheap and recommended them to my 17 year old brother who is looking to buy his first car.
