carpet damage in rented property.
4 Answers
recently i had a power cut and when the power came back on i noticed that a spot light i had on my bedside table had been knocked to the floor. I'd obviously had it on when the power went off because when i picked the lamp up it was on and had burnt a hole in the carpet. I've only recently moved in and the carpet was new (typical)its a huge room- i havent told my landlord yet as i dont want him to think i'm a bad tenant. I'm presuming i'm liable, am i right? should i replace the carpet now?
