Is there an insurance company that would insure my house plus contents plus 2 cars plus travel insurance infact give us total cover for everything on one policy.. surely this should work out cheaper than having seperate policies..

Not as one policy, because the policies are 'standard' to cover a given set of circumstances.
But you can get a discount for having multiple policies with the same organisation.
I have never found it cheaper to do so because there seem to be specialists in specifics areas.
The cost of the administrative side of insurance (which is where any savings could be passed onto you) has been driven down markedly in the last few years through the use of the internet and other technology. I can remember the time when my Cooperative Insurance agent used to come to visit me to renew and collect my premium. How quaint is that?

Contrary to the other answer, yes there is. However, insurers usually like these to be what's called high net worth or mid net worth policies; in other words, you need to be worth a bit!! The policies can cover all family cars, the house/contents, and a few other covers besides.

If you want to do it as cheaply as possible, spend some time on the internet.

If you want to save the hassle, use an insurance broker.

thanks for the replies.. I just thought there may be an insurance company that would lob them all in one package.. it would be easier for everyone..and less admin costs .. maybe one day an insurance company will start to do it..

Find an Insurance broker and he should be able to help you, tell him you want portfolio insurance, this is what we have. It covers up to 4 cars, house and contents, our mobile home( caravan) also our travel insurance. We think this is the best thing ever as we can pay for it all at once, or over 3 payments. It works out much cheaper all round . If you want to cover things like golf clubs, jewellery , paintings or computers be sure to tell them but it will cost more to add things like these, good luck, let me know how you get on..
