International health Insurance

Does anyone have any experience of taking out international health/medical insurance (in the U.K.) for someone living and working in S.E.Asia? Advice/ recommendations would be appreciated.

to get insurance in uk, the person would have to be in the uk

Obviously international insurance wouldn't be required if the person were living and working in the U.K. International medical insurance is available-I could buy it online today at a cost of approx.£1400 p.a.My question was has anyone on here had experience of taking out that kind of insurance and if they have any advice or recommendations.

yes but what i am saying is you can't take it out for someone who is already abroad (as your question implies)
