pop ups

I've started to get popups, all of a sudden, loads of them and some have no border, stay on top and wont close even though there is a close button. My pop up blocker is on and it's driving me mad!
Any suggestions, anyone please

2) install the adblock plus extension for firefox:

3) install the Filterset.G updater, to keep on top of the filter for you:

4) once all that's done, type "about:config" in the address bar. browse to where it says "privacy.popups.disable_from_plugins" and make sure the value is set to "2" (it should be).

Another very useful extension is Tab Mix Plus. This allows you to customise the tab settings (use several tabs in one window, instead of several windows), and also handily comes with a session saver so that if firefox or your computer crashes, you don't lose all the pages you were browsing:
