I am really keen to begin teaching piano in schools, have taught privately but am bored in my current job as an estate agent and need to change careers. my three surrounding councils say they have no vacancies! (Birmingham, Worcester and Solihull and am frustrated. Thanks
Sorry babe, the best thing to do is stay private for a while. You'll then build yourself up a great reputation. Then save your money and rent out your own studio and start advertising in newspapers. I know it isn't as immediate as you'd hoped, but you can get there if you try =) best of luck xx
I'd go for the previous advice. England generally has great music services in many boroughs of London and beyond but to become established you could join the ISM service to get you on the roll of private piano teachers. In terms of school curriculum try a classroom assistant job or learning support which could get you access into the classroom on primary or secondary level but you would probably end up having to teach more than just the piano.
