Nursing Essay, need help desperately

I really need help on this essay. I have no idea what it is talking about and what i am meant to write. I have emailed my tutor but recieved no reply. Can any nurses or nursing students shed some light on this for me please? I was going to use a stroke patient and i understand you got to write about all four aspects of care, eg physical, social etc, but write what about them!?!

The assignment should provide evidence of theoretical understanding underpinning practice, and should critically analyse the application of 'comprehensive care' to a client/patient of your choice from clinical practice.


The assignment should:

�Demonstrate how life changes impact on nursing care provision, with reference to the patient's perception of their health.
�Demonstrate your role within the multi-disciplinary team in relation to health promotion and/or illness prevention and/or rehabilitation.
�Include aspects of comprehensive nursing care,
i.e. physical/psychological/social/spiritual care.

Suggest you look critically at your patient , as unique
and individual. Then describe him and his needs under each of the following headings:
1. Physical
2. Social
3. Sexual (male/female)
4. Financial
5. Psychological
6. Environmental
7. Past medical history
8. Personality and temperament
9. Family and support available
10. Prognosis

Under each heading, state what you, the team and the
hospital can, and must do ,to put this individual back
into the 'normal' position he was in before he became
ill.
Spiritual care ? Pick the hospital padre's brains for
his suggestions.
Other good sources of info. are the Registrars, OTs.
Phsiotherapists, Social Workers, Dietitians and
close relatives. esp. spouse/partner.

Do your homework; collect all the information, then
set out your suggested care-plan under the above
headings. 2 paragraphs on each item will give you
a 20 paragraph essay of comprehensive coverage.

'theoretical understanding/critically analyse' - you'll need to refer to literature, not just describe a care plan. Give the theoretical rationale for each aspect.
Incidentally, I was taught that you do not refer to a 'stroke patient', but a patient with (a) stroke - the former is considered to dehumanise the patient.

Don't be ****!ng lazy and expect others to do your work for you. If you'd been to lectures or done your reading, this would be simple. I managed my course with a family, huge financial pressures, a part time job, good friends, attending all my lectures and while caring for my partner. I got a first and if you did your studying, you would be able to answer this standing on your head.

Thank you everyone who gave me help and advice. My tutor has finally replied and im seeing her tomorrow so ill use her meeting and your ideas to write my essay.

and Stonekicker - im not being lazy as you state, im only asking for advice, not someone to write my essays for me. Im in my third year and wouldnt have got this far if i didnt want to put the work in!
