The last succesful invasion was by William the ******* in 1066. Since then a few attempts have been made. Some Frenchmen landed in Wales but the women frightened them off. Charles Stuart invaded from Scotland in 1745 and got as far as Derby before they all fell out & returned North to be defeated at Culloden. I think there have been other futile attempts. The most succesful since 1066 seems to be by the EU, they seem to be winning.
