Does your career/employment qualify for the degree you have.

Was Uni worth the extra expertise?

The job I do now did not even exist when I graduated and in fact I never held out much hope for getting a permanent living from the subject I studied. I would not have missed out on Uni for anything and I am very pleased with the skills and outlook it helped me to develop. In addition having any degree is regarded as an advantage to many professions. Lastly, fairly or unfairly, simply having a degree from my old uni, Durham, has been a large advantage in getting applications for jobs noticed.
yes - am a psych nurse. got a first from a decent uni (southampton) so the world is my oyster! am thinking of ********* off to sunnier climes soon (oz maybe). learnt loads, had fun, (almost) no debt and a job for 20k. fabulous!
I got a degree in History with a view to teaching. I did teach for a while - IT to adults!

Now I work for a library service in a job that, although I love it, is certainly not one that needs a degree qualification.
My first jobs were in Engineering (my degree subject) but were not graduate jobs, I could have got them straight from A-levels.
I now teach for which I needed a first degree to do PGCE, so yes it was worth it!
And the experience alone never mind the qualification was worth it - you do a lot of growing up in a short space of time!
