Star Sign Qualities

Watching some tripe on TV led me to look at the star sign qualities/personalities of each of my children, I don't read my fortune thing as I am not into it all, but good grief, each of my children has the qualities of their star sign. Very odd.

And for my two sons, a Virgo and a Leo, the qualities described are completely wrong. Go figure, as our American cousins say.

I'm Aries (just checked out its qualities - seems to suit me to a tee). Know it's a load of old toffee and you only apply the bits you want to but thought it was slightly interesting (oddly thing 1 & 2 are Pisces).

I'm a Scorpio and I think that I have a lot of the qualities it talks about... especially the bad ones! Jealousy, stubbornness, secretiveness....

try swapping a couple of them with each other and see if they still read more or less accurately.

The Virgo son is disorganised and impetuous.
The Leo son is quite shy and unassuming.
Both virtually the opposite of what is forecast for them.

I am Leo and bang on for that sign, as was DH. My Mum was a Gemini through and through.

There's a name for how they write these sort of things so that they're so generic they could apply for anyone.... Sadly I can't remember it!

Just wanted to clarify - I know it's nonsense, just found it interesting how you can blindly 'apply' the characteristics to the person in mind (thing 1 & 2 are completely different but the gumpf talks of two people pulling in opposite directions). Quite manipulative and, I suppose, damaging to the people who believe and make decisions based on their 'fortunes'.

I've never met anyone who actually does that, sherrardk. I have met a man who wrote horoscopes for his local paper, though; he just made them up.

My ex-sister-in-law who died a couple or so months ago, used to work for a national newspaper and stood in, on occasions, for various people when they were on holiday.
That included agony aunts and the feller who wrote the horoscopes.
I've never gone much on star signs myself.

I quite like being a Gemini....twice the fun....twice the trouble. Both children are Capricorn......couldn't be more different.

I'm a Taurus, very loving, placid, but stubborn, it takes a lot to get me mad then am not nice to know. I like my home to be nice and love children. That is me more or less.
