become a special constable , it does make me wonder if u were that determined would you not have rang or written to your local police and stated what you want to do its taken you four years?
just contact them
Many police forces now ask what you have done to help your community, so some form of voluntary work would help.
Ring your local Police HQ or go on the website. Join the Special Constabulary and you'll be rubbing shoulders with people who can help you with the recruiting process. Your caution isn't likely to be a problem. Expect to invest around 3 to 5 years in this process and you'll have a job for life. Be advised though, it's not an easy ride and it doesn't suit everyone.

thank you for all your info
Or just go ahead and apply, I know two people that had things on their record but if you are honest they may still take you. Failing that, yes apply to be a special.
