pay rise

Hi, did anybody know, after how many months in new job I should ask for a pay rise? I working in admin/business private sector? Thank you.

Have you successfully completed your probation period? Do not think about a rise until after this. Does your company normally have annual pay reviews? If so you can wait until then as you would have been given what they regard as the going rate for the job when you started. Did they say anything in the interview - in the offer letter - in your contract of employment? What have you done that would justify a pay rise? I would not be happy if a new member of staff was asking about a rise after such a short period unless they were exceptional.

Thank you for your answer. I pass my probation perior 2 moth ago. When I started, I received contract for this period, which should be extended after that. I dont get any other contract after this period, so I dont have any piece of paper till today. I was taking as a part time, but after 3 weeks from start, I was offered full time hours. I still working full time and get very good apreisel after 3 months. So, feel like I deserve it quiet soon. Im not sure about company policy, but looks like they have a wage review just this months, but nobody talk about it and looks like, nothing will happend, if I keep quiet. Any advice?

If the pay review does happen shortly you should be informed of the results so you will be able to ask questions if you think that it is not as you would like. If you hear nothing then you are entitled to ask if the review did take place. When you changed from Part time to Full time was your hourly rate changed? Some companies pay Part time staff a lower rate, so when you started working Full time there should have been an adjustment if this was the case. I would not advise asking for a rise between pay reviews unless some thing has changed, such as Exam passes to justify the request. Just as a last point your English, spelling and grammar, is not as good as I would expect for someone in an admin role - perhaps if you improved this you would indeed get the rise you want.

Thanks, feel already little bit better. My boss offer me a full time hours, but suggest, that my contract will not change and extra hours (2 days) will be paid as a overtime, till things settle down (one lady leave, but since replecament was found) Since, I working full time without contract. I mentioned a couple times, that I would like to have a contract for full time (because I work full time!) but our HR was always to busy to do it, or she just dont want to do it + never received straight answer (YS OR NOT) if they want to do it. Feel like Im on the hold and they can dismiss me any time. Also my hourly rate does not change, which Im not happy about as it is quiet low. Sorry about my english, which need to be improve big time, I know... Im foreign and I learn english by my self just past 3.5 years. My job does not require a lot writing-lucky :-) Thanks for advice!
