I wanted to update you on my job situation - I applied for a job which was identical to the job I did for 5 years back in the ordinary office (out of the call centre) - I filled in the application form (taking a week to do this, with my current manager's� (questionable?) advice) and did not even get an interview! Despite having previously done the job for 5 years and getting excellent performance reviews throughout. I think it was because of my sick record, even though my employer WAS the cause of my sickness absence.Having been threatened with dismissal, I decided to resign, which I have done. I took a temporary Christmas job working on NMW, which has now ended, so I am now joining the great unemployed.
I have 17 years experience working for this Government Department and feel that I have been sh@t on from a great height.
Not meaning to moan, just wanted to let you know, as your comments were sensible and informative, even if they weren't what I wanted to hear!
