by who?
if you currently pay your own rent then youd be expected to pay it from your maternity pay.

Maternity pay is instead of salary. Therefore anything you usually had to pay with your salary, you have to pay with your maternity pay. So no, you dont get your rent paid for you.

_ the only proviso would be if you work in a job with accommodation included as part of the package, i.e if you dont pay rent for it at all normally.

what! so a single girl with baby has 117 per week and she is expected to put aside rent of 485 per month out of that ? is this true?
errr... yes - who do you think is going to pay the rent for you?
Once the baby is born, you will also qualify for Child support, which for your first (eldest) child, you will get 20 per week.

You ought to look at this government link, it will help you find out what help and benefits you might qulify whilst on Maternity.
