overtime or extra hours
2 Answers
I work 22.5 hrs a week in the NHS as Med Secretary. having to do more at moment as others sick etc. Should I get paid time and a half or normal pay. I was told ages ago that you didnt get time and a half until after you had worked your 37.5 hours a week but my contracted hours are 22.5 so surely I should get it after working that.
This is overtime in my book but are they trying a fast one by calling it extra hours !?? Thanks.

You say you are working extra hours and being paid. There is no legal obligation for an employer to even pay for additional hours or overtime let alone normal rates, time and a half or double. The contract of employment or employment handbook should set out the pay conditions.
