Salaried & Overtime Pay
10 Answers
A friend of mine is working on a 40 hours/week salary, paid monthly. Her Contract states that No Overtime is applicable.
However, she is frequently asked to work extra hours. Last week she worked, 50 hours.
What is her position re being paid for the extra hours? Thanks.

Some say that if asked to work extra hours you can not refuse without a valid reason. Some say you have to work up to specified number of extra hours if asked. If you are not paid for extra hours you often get time off in lieu but again it depends on what is in your contract.
