Hi Does anyone know where you can get your jobs history. I cant remember back to 1997 where I was or what particular job I had at that time. I used to swap and only have worked for the same company back to 2000.

Can anyone help

Can you ask the inland revenue - does anyone know - how do you get checked upon, can I ask them

You might as well ask them (HMRC)? But I can't see why they'd do it for you.

But if you can't remember is it that important to get it right? Is anyone likely to question the exact details of your employers from 1997-2000?

Funny enough I have applied for a job and they have asked me to clarify my job history back to 1997. I know I am daft but I haven't keep cv's and things and the 2 companies that I think I worked for in that time have gone to the wall now.
I don't think there is any organisation you can get to confirm this.
Frankly if you have been with the same company since 2000, this (9 years with current employer) should be good enough for any prospective employer to decide whether to interview you or not, and it is clearly some petty HR rule that says 'ask for the last 12 years job history' that is driving this.
You can probably get confirmation from your current employer about where you previous job was - they will have asked for references and it should be in your personnal file. No, I'm not being daft - invent a plausible reason for needing to know like - 'I've got a query about my NI record with the Pensions Service and they want to know who my last employer was' That should do it without raising suspicions.
