Good grief, there's four weeks till the end of term then a six week holiday but I have just seen an advert from Tescos for 'Back to school uniforms'. They'll have the Christmas decorations up next.
Ooh yes; you have to start cooking them now!
There is a man who comes into Co-op every Saturday and gives us regular updates on how many days until Christmas from around March time; it's very depressing!
its true what they say and yet you dont believe it at the time do you??..like when your parents said ''schooldays are the best days of your life'' at the time i bet you thought ''are they hell'' but i bet you wish you were back there now..and your 20s and 30s went by in a blur..your 40s watching your kids grow from children to adults?? and giving them the same advice..and as you enter your 50s [like me] trying to stay fit and of active mind..am i right??? or is that just me???..being sentimental...
First school was brilliant; middle school was ok, first 2 years of high school were pretty bad but last 3 years of high school were brill! I went to college for A-levels and that was probably the best!
I have to agree stoke...as you get older you do look back and see what you are missing now, nothing wrong in that it's nice to think about the good times....just wish there were more of them now though lol.
<<is guilty of already having bought a few bits of new uniform. I have to, i simply can't afford to buy it in one go. I have to buy bits from each months wage.
Also after the summer holidays, i do start thinking of Christmas presents. If I see anything which I think will be suitable for someone, I buy it and put it away. And why? For the very same reason as above.
Nothing wrong in that Boo, good housekeeping and keeps your budget on track, it would be nice to think that others looked at things that way too. Years ago people used to put things away for christmas for the same reason.
I always have good intentions of buying early but I'm always there the week before the start of the new term, chucking parents up and over my shoulders as I plough my way through to the front of the chaos that is - school uniform shopping.
I was listening to coldplay's version of 'have yourself a merry little Christmas' about an hour ago :p
Stokey, that's very sentimental and lovely too. :)
