Our careers advisor is unmarried and pregnant

Our school is always teaching us that we should get married before we have children but our careers advisor who is also a supply teacher is unmarried and pregnant, she is in a relationship with the father but surely that goes against everything they teach us.

Why? It's clearly a case of 'do as we say, not as we do'.

So she hasn't actually had children yet then?
Anyway the schoool as an entity is not the same as the individuals who work there. It'd be a bit mush to insist on how employees run their life. Too much of that tried on as it is.
Plau, I guess some (probably most or all) find it difficult to live up to their own (high ?) standards. On's spirit knows what it thinks is right, but the body turns out to be weak, as they say.

Keeley16 it is quiet unusual in my experience for Uk schools to teach us that we should get married before children. Maybe 20 or 30 years ago yes but nowadays teachers have to be very wary of what is said due to many children being brought up with one adult in the home.
Also the curriculum has certain guidelines on what is taught but these "holier than thou" teachers creep through the system all of the time.
Times have (thankfully)changed so much since I was at school as a pupil and for the better I say. We should welcome everybody's beliefs and choices these days (or ideally should) as long as they don't harm anybodyx
