would any of you feel it would be stupid of me to look for a job at this late day - I have taken a feeling to work in a bar to get me out of the house - I am 50-59. I am willing to work at anything in the bar where is a bit of craic . - Please do not think it is near to be near drink far from it . Just a few hours a week. Do you think they would give me a job at this late state of my age. Am I too old.

Depends what type of bar it is. A small side street local might.

Agree with Ummm, depends on the bar. The last pub I worked at the landlord flatly refused to employ any guys because he said the customers wouldn't like it.

try a workign mans club type of place or small local, avoid the big busy chain pubs

Not at all, never too old. Maybe steer clear of the trendy downtown pubs/clubs where people go to see and be seen (wouldn't get the craic there anyway). Otherwise, lots of locals where "ordinary" folks meet for a drink and a chat.
