New Scout Uniform options
Additional uniform choices introduced in the Scouts:

This is the standard uniform for girls in the scouts:

Am I missing something here, cos I cant see what is immodest about it?
This is not a rant or racist thing btw, I'm just genuinely curious. My boys are in the scouts and there a few girls in their troop who wear the standard uniform and tbh you struggle to tell that they are girls as it pretty much covers everything.
The new uniform doesn't really look like part of the same organisation.

Apparently there are a greater amount of girls signing up to the scouts than boys at the moment. Which actually I feel sad about more than any changes to the uniform. It is all about inclusion certainly, but boys are getting squeezed out and girls already have the guides available to them.......which I guess boys are free to join but in a practice sense they cant unless they want to get beaten up!
If girls are not keen on the opportunities offered in their own organisation then they should effect changes form within - or just call it all scouts and open up the available spaces to all kids.
bednobs - bottom half in the official uniform is navy combat style trousers but in practice most kids just wear jeans or whatever unless it's something where they have to be smart (e.g. Rememberance day) where they wear any smart dark trousers.

I'm surprised girls want to join the Boy Scouts. Its equality gone mad! Why not stick to the Girl Guides. I'm sure that Baden Powell wished this to happen. He will probably be sticking 2 fingers up to this.
If Muslims wished to join this group they should adhere to the dress currently used not act like suppressors and demand their own kit.

Yes I agree Girls should stick to the Girl Guides, which should be altered to fit in with what the modern girl wants, and it would also be an ideal organisation to teach girls how to develop into decent 21st century females and mothers etc, no way this can be done if it is a mixed sex organisation.
Regarding special dispensations for Muslims, the Scout movement was based on Christian teachings, hence it's inclusion in the Scout promise, opening prays before meetings, and the well known St George's parades, which terminate at a Christian church.
