We can't decide what to do for a holiday this summer; anyone got any ideas.

There are 5 of us (2 adults and 3 kids (8, 6 & 3)) and we want to go away for a week or two in late August.

We need something that doesn't rely on good weather(obviously), that will keep the kids amused and is cheap.

Any ideas appreciated

oh and did I mention it has to be cheap?

Thanks

Sidari on North coast of Corfu would be suitable for all options. We (as a retired couple) liked the far end which was beautiful, quiet and very picturesque, but the main part in the town itself was quite commercialised and more suitable for families. Quite a long coach ride to the airport though for small children.

Perthshire is nice ... ;)
You are looking at the expensive season, school holidays always bump up the prices.

We need more info before we can suggest anything? seaside? camp site? UK or abroad?
Centre Parks, Butlins, Oasis.

I went to Oasis when the kids were small. Loved it.
Greece has some very good offers for August at the moment, I was looking myself a couple of weeks ago/

We were supposed to be visiting Aunty Sue in Perthshire but even that is up in the air.
oh and let's not forget this:

Good questions Boxy:

Seaside would be preferable. Camping is a possible but we can't forget the rain.

Abroad would be considered.

Not much of a help was it!!

@Rocky

I did see a week in Corfu for £1500 for the 5 of us from East Midlands (very handy)....very tempting!
What about a Eurocamp holiday? It combines the cheapness of camping with being abroad
Budget?
Holiday park in Cornwall in a static caravan?

We've been on a Eurocamp holiday already this year (I fear we may be heading for another). We went to Vendee in France in mid May. It looked a bit like Skegness out of season; I hate to think what it is like in July/Aug.

As for budget.....I don't want to pay more than £400 for uk or £700 for Europe and yes I am a bit tight!!
a friend with 3 younger children swears by Centre Parks...she has been a few
times.
I'd grab the Corfu deal, no contest.
very hot in Corfu in August; take gallons of sunscreen if you take that option. And you'd presumably want to be near a beach, not up in the hills.
Son and his family swear by Haven Holidays for the kids. Loads to do for my grandkids who are 8 and 4.

Daughter and family have just been to south of France at a Eurocamp site. They love it and go to a different region of France each year. Bit pricey though.

Just back from Malta - very hot and getting very pricey too.
Andrew - Always used Haven when my kids were that age. Pay for the holiday on camp activities. kids clubs and a bar on your door step albeit not great. You can use it as a base and not stay on site, which we did mostly.

Only thing at this type of year is availability.
Time of year not type doh!!
stop at home
Where are you based andrew ?
