Pgce Primary Distance Learning
3 Answers
Hello, does anyone know of anywhere that offers PGCE primary as distance learning? I live in Berkshire, but I suppose it doesn't matter if it's distance learning. Tried the OU but they only offer Secondary. Just on the off chance someone out there knows to save hours of internet searching each institution!......fingers crossed and thank you

Much of a PGCE course must be spent actually working with children, under the supervision of a tutor from the relevant institution. While the OU may have the resources to find local course supervisors,I very much doubt that any other body would have. For example, if you were to do a distance-learning course provided by (say) the University of Exeter, you could hardly expect a tutor to regularly travel to the school that you're teaching in to monitor your progress. PGCE courses need to be provided by universities which are close to the schools where their student will be doing their teaching practice.
If Thames Valley and Reading Universities don't offer what you want, them I very much doubt that anyone else can.
Sorry!
