Had to loan my son money, as the agency he did some work for failed to deposit his last weeks wages w/e Thurs 19th Dec, which was do to be in his bank 27th.
He has phoned the agency on numerous occasions, but gets the run around. The person he needs to speak to is on lunch. The person fails to return his call. The person is on the other line and will return his call etc.
What steps can my son take if he cant get any solution. Is there a body to report bad agencies too?

I'm assuming that is employed by the agency but worked for a company that uses the agency?

If so, write to the agency and make it clear he has also sent the letter to the company.

That might prompt the company to get in touch with the agency - as they will be paying the agency to provide them with staff......
I work through an agency and didn't get paid this week fo a small session I did last week but I was pretty much expecting that given that most support staff were off and there were some bank holidays. I have also had delays in recent weeks with companies being slow in submitting time sheets or paying invoices, or with just poor admin due to staffing issues. It is a down side of working through an agency.
I would not take up Tuvok's suggestion of letting the company know- the agency will not like it and may decide not to use him again. Maybe the company didn't submit the signed time sheet or maybe the payroll timetable allowed for it.
I think he should just ask for an explanation and find out whether anything can be done to guarantee it won't happen again

As a update, my son reported for work this morning, and told the client of the situation. He was told his hrs of work were sent to the agency,(the agency say they have not received confirmation of hrs) and they, his client will not be sending duplicate confirmation.
Is it up to the agency to chase this up.
The whole issue is for the agency to sort out

Have done some searching for my son, www.gov sites, and agency workers have more rights than I first thought.
In the meantime he has been contacted and his wages are to be paid the end of this week?
He has also been told the agency has no more work for him. Making waves spring to mind.
