Anyone who graduated this year - have you got a job yet?

I wouldn't have thought so....I graduated in 2002, and was waitressing for over a year, had two crappy temp jobs and an even crappier full time post in government before I fell upon my current job....which has very little to do with my degree, by the way!

I graduated in 2004, took me 4 months to get a crappy part time job in the personnel department of Sainsbury's and a further 5 months to get out of that and into a job in Central London. like my job but has nothing to do with my degree and nowhere near the amount of money I should be earning according to the bigwigs. Do what you can and good luck. don't aim too high cos it won't happen!!

I graduated in 2000, and was in full time employment - directly related to my course - before the ceremony had even taken place!

I graduated on a Saturday in 2004 and started work on the Monday morning ... I'm sure things will work out for you c00ky83

I start on monday too! I graduated in july. Remeber, there are loads of graduates out there now, you have to make yaself stand out. Its worth registering with an agency (im with reed) and make sure your CV sells you. Be prepared to start at the bottom of the career ladder too, having a degree ensures a faster promotion, especially if your good at what you do as your company will wanna keep ya! Good luck mate.

I graduated in July this year and ive just been offered a job to start in september.  Albeit nothing to do with my degree subject, and its not a graduate career programme,  it's still very good money and the hours are great and its 10 mins drive from home.

I registered with loads of graduate jobsites, which then send emails when jobs come up.

Don't forget though, most graduate jobs for sept start have already been filled.  Most companies start the graduation recruitment process again in september and usually takes 12 months for the application process, interviews, test centres etc.
