I want to move to Belfast to live with my boyfriend but before I move over there I would like to be able to have a job.  I am a bit concerned as to whether I will get very far with interviews etc and if they will take me seriously about moving if i am still in Scotland.  What do you think would be the best thing to do?  Maybe I should just temp for a bit when I first arrive there?

I was in a similar situation a few years back.  I was living & working in London but looking for work in the North East so I could move in with my girlfriend (now wife).

When I wrote to request an application form and/or send in an application letter with my CV, I explained something along the line of being "currently in the process of relocating to Anytown due to a change in my domestic situation".  I always included my girflriend's address as well as my London address to back it up and requested copies being sent to both addresses (I actually included 2 separate SAE's with each request/application).

I did consider moving & then looking for work but in the end I didn't have to.
