I worked in offices for 10 years leading to various roles as P.A., office manager etc. I then had my first child and stayed at home. Then my second child came along and when she was two I went back to college to study for a HNC. From that i continued on to do a foundation degree which ive just completed. So in total I have been stduing in higher education for 3 years and have had 7 years out of the workplace. Since graduating in July i have since been offered and accepted a very good office based role to start in September.
I registered with lots of graduate websites who sent me regular emails about jobs available. Although I was earning good money in my previous role back in 1998, since graduating I have been able to secure a well paid job based on my qualifications and experience.
Don't give up hope. Apply for those roles higher than you had in the past. They are out there and the pay is better.
If you need any guidance on the websites I registered with, let me know and I'll paste some here for you.
