Do the French border police really think that the recent terrorists came from the UK. Or is this engineered delay just another example of frog truculence?

// Highways England ‏said that “French border police at the Port of Dover and Eurotunnel continue to follow French government requirements to deliver heightened security checks” following recent attacks, the Press Association reports.
P&O Ferries tweeted: “Heightened security check at French Border Control in Dover due to events in France, we’ll get you on your way as soon as you check in.”//

If this is true then the french are not interested in security. " At one stage only one French officer was available to check passengers on hundreds of coaches, resulting in each coach taking 40 minutes to process, said the council." BBC News

well the old firesides have always blamed England for their woes. They've never forgiven us for saving their gutless plasters in 2 world wars for a start.
for God's sake, the second world war finished 70 years ago.......let's move on and think forward.
Intended, deliberate, but, try and prove it.
Is that a guess them?
^then not them
just bomb the white flag factory and move on. Who cares what the French think? non entities the whole douche de merde.
I suspect there is an element of truth in what you say. I'd like our Border Officials do equally stringent checks on incoming as well. Perhaps we can cause traffic chaos in Calais as well. Incidentally of course........
I believe there was a recent terror attack in France. If they imposed stricter checks everywehre but Dover, where do you think terrorists would head for in order to get into France?
Their mum was already deceased at the start of the series.
Wrong thread, please remove.
Look we're talking terrorism here and they come from EVERY where you just can't be too carefull I'd rather stand in line for four or five hours then be shot or blown up because because somebody skimped their job to save a few minutes in a line up,even if somebody is using the situation for political purposes.
I'd say they are entitled to do whatever security checks they want...under the circumstances. We'd do the same.
If we want them to be very thorough with checks at Calais then we may at times have to expect checks to be stepped up at Dover. They also need to show their public they are being extra vigilant. I am pretty certain though that the main risk does not come from Dover.
There may be a political posturing aspect relating to Brexit but we may never know for sure

Ohh paddywak, I didn't realise that there were massive delays into the EUSSR zone every where else as well. Perhaps they are concerned that all the malcontents that they have waved through to the UK over the years are trying to get back there, after the Brexit vote.
//I'd say they are entitled to do whatever security checks they want... //

indeed. but expecting only one officer to do this?

let's hope that the delays occasioned had no part in today's coach crash in eastern France.

One security officer mushroom is indeed the clue. After all they are not at all used to a huge increase in traffic at this time of the year are they? And still we have the gullible, a naïve, who defend and support the French and their ingrained anti British attitudes. My god it must stick in their craws that we either beat them or save them.
Dont be such an idiot.
84 people were killed and hundreds injured in a terrorist attack last week. Of course they are going to ramp up security. You Europhobes are unbelievable.
Togo -you need go visit places in Normandy where the British are held in the highest esteem. If the Nice atrocity had happened in Blackpool would you still be moaning about the British tightening up security on their borders?...no I didn't think so.
We experienced increased security checks at Dover when leaving the UK in April.
Then extra security at Dunkerque coming back.
wait till they stop doing checks at Calais - there is after all no reason why they should continue to guard Britain's borders.
