I have a friend who is going for a job at a school, so she will only be working for about 40 weeks of the year. The salary is 13500 pro rata. Could anyone work out how much she could take home, oh and she will be working for 35 hoursa week. This pro rata business is a con, i think!!!

Although maybe I can see where you are coming from, they should just advertise the job at the rate for 40 weeks per year, not 52.
If it is 13500 per annum, then this equates to 259.62 per week. If she will be working 40 weeks p.a, she will get 40 x 259.62 = 10384.80. Before tax and NI. If she gets paid monthly, over 12 months, 10384.80 / 12 = 865.40 gross.
I can't work out 'take home' pay as I'm rubbish at working out tax and national insurance!
