Teachers....which ones do you remember, and is there one that really sticks in your memory? We often hear interviews by various great people who regularly refer back to some memorable or influential teacher whose instruction and inspiration helped them in life. Looking back to school, does any teacher stand out, and if so, why? (For good, and for bad.)

All perfectly true I assure you.
I guess you could say that at the end of term, your headmistress's position of being in loco parentis was... suspended?
whaaaa whaaaa whaaaaaaaaaaa
Miss Smith, Latin mistress. She could always be diverted into the naughty bits of ancient mythology when stuff got a bit boring.
I have a number of fond (and some not so fond!) memories of my grammar school teachers. I can remember nearly all of them. During my time there was a prefect who went to uni and returned to the school as a maths teacher. He is still at the school today. He has the distinction of teaching maths to Gary Kemp, Steve Norman, John Keeble and Tony Hadley - four of the five members of Spandau Ballet. The only one he did not teach was Gary's younger brother Martin who attended a different school. Some of my teachers also taught the same members.

Gary Kemp was the patron of the school's 400th anniversary celebrations in 2013.
^^ I know this much is true ^^ :)
Mr Chester, my primary school teacher who believed in me and gave me the confidence to never give up.

Mr Henry , a truly inspirational music master - he was short so stood on a boxlike podium to do most of the lesson. So great was his enthusiasm he would regularly topple off.

Mr Hanavan, who almost glowed when he taught us French nad History, he lived and breathed his subjects.
My maths teacher at secondary school - gosh, what a *** he was. I was terrified of him.
