but find it increasingly exhausting.
When I was younger I would think nothing of driving for miles all day. (had several driving jobs).
But today have driven only from Stoke to Chester and back and am k,nackerd.
Driving to Shrewsbury tomorrow and while I will enjoy the drive I know that im going to be exhausted when I get back.
Anyone else feel this way as they get older? Don't know why Im finding it so tiresome as I age. Not as though its a physical activity?
(Im only 52 as well )
//its the mental concentratio that exhausting//
I get that. Realised after about 5 hours in Chester that I'd left the side light on after I'd parked. It only just about spluttered back into life when I turned the ignition after returning. Could've still been there now else :-(
Plus I took a wrong turn on a roundabout...
My problem with driving is that I get really bored really quickly. I try to find a play to listen to on the radio or select a channel that will help me concentrate unlike music that becomes wallpaper after less than 20miles!
I cant stop eating and drinking, and then I have to stop for a loo break. Such a fidget, but I'm even worse as a passenger because I find reading makes me feel sick, and with nothing to do I get pretty grumpy.
I have always enjoyed driving but it has lost its thrill over the years and do also find long journeys boring now - and I hate being a passenger as it's so boring so also eat sweets (also can't read nor fall asleep).
