Should I Take A Year Off My Seasonal Job I've Been Doing For 10 Years?

I have been working for a company seasonally for the last 10 years, due to a small altercation with a co-worker last year, this year I have been severely demoted. Sometimes it feels like I am purposely being pushed out, although I have been told that I have the opportunity to move back up slightly if I am "exceptional."
Should I just give it up for a year or maybe longer, or should I bite the bullet on my demotion.

If it is a job that you have a passion for, then i would continue to peruse a path within the job.

If it's not something you love, and you feel your time and work has been wasted due to the altercation last year, which caused a big demotion, and you feel like you don't have the energy required to climb back up that ladder, then maybe find something else that you can put a lot of time and effort into, maybe something you have a passion for.
It is purely your choice.

Personally I'd figure looking out for other job opportunities can only help. One doesn't have to try for them but it gives one options.
How much do you need the job? How easy would it be to find something else?
