A girl in the office was given a 6 month contract, but management decided to end it. She's devastated and found out 2½ months ago. She's very lucky she was given 2½ months notice. We know at the drop of a hat she'd stay on if management asked her to, but a little bird told me that the manager didn't like her, but the manager made out that the dept hasn't the money to keep her on. She also had 2 months off during this contract for a back operation.
Every day, she keeps saying how she is applying for jobs and how anxious she is that she hasn't been short-listed, etc and then goes onto which jobs she's applying for, the location and how another manager is going to have a word with someone at another site and on and on it goes. It's getting on my nerves and I leave her to the others in the office. What more does this girl need fgs?

You ask "What more can one do for her?" It doesn't seem as if you have done anything for her, so why are you saying that? Leave her alone, stop obsessing about her and just get on with your own job and your own life.

No idea.
She isn't the 'needy' one, imho.

But she's still going on still, Zacs-Master, after all this time. Maybe that's why I'm re-asking? What more can one do for her?
You must have a short fuse, so much trivia gets on your nerves
So why not just comment on your original thread?
treacle - no one here cares, just do what you want to.
Have you thought about making her aware of AnswerBank so she can seek advice on what to do next?

On the other hand, perhaps you're just jealous of the attention she's receiving?
Girl on AB keeps banging on about girl in the office who is leaving.

Give us another story, Treacle.
I think treacle just needs to vent sometimes, and this is the place to do it.
Unlike those of us who hold it all in.

"What more does this girl need"

Well, she clearly needs another job just for starters...
She needs a job, probably to pay her bills and the stress she is under must be awful
would treacle concede that she's in a sticky predicament, the poor Honey....
. . . and you're still banging on about it here - getting on our nerves.
I'd say get on with your own work and pay less heed to what's going on around you!

Thanks, Ringlet. I suppose I feel bad for her.
Gosh, it doesn't seem to me that you feel sorry for her, more that she irritates you!

Probably just reassurance and some positivity.
Gully, what does DT have to do with rice crispies??
