How do I write a 'BIO'?

Please can someone help me with this? I am sending in details to a music agency, hoping to get some work playing piano in London. They have asked that I send in a few photos of myself, together with a 'bio'. I asked loosely what this entails, and it sounds like they want a few paragraphs of writing, just describing basic things like where I've studied, played, awards and any major achievements. Is this correct? Is there any online resource I can check to see examples?

I have a CV to send but this is very general and not music-specific - and I thought it might be too much info to send. Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Send a short list of places you have played -

Jan. 79 - Jan. 89

Sorry, don;t know what happened there -

so, Jan. '79 - Jan. '89 - Muck and Dustcat - playing for evening diners.

Feb.'89 - Jan' '91 - The Bristly Git - singalong and requests for evening pub clientele.

and so on. Just keep it brief, giving dates and venues, it just shows you have experience.

Good luck.
