how to get that first job in buying?

Im looking for a job in buying and am trying to find an buyers admin assisstant. I have 3 yrs management experience in retail. Are there any buyers that could give me a few tips?

Best bet would be to tweak your CV and use a specialist agency - very few buying jobs make it to the eyes of the general public they are either snapped up by people within the company beforehand or are banded about the agencies.

My first buying job I got because I was already in that particular industry & the company wanted someone who was familiar with the products & market, not neccesarily an experienced buyer!
