Do you remember when you were a kid and someone would say what do you want to be when you grow up, do you actually know anyone or did you stick to and so that job? when i was kid i wanted to own a post office or be a teacher ,because i was always playing with stationary now i work in office (playing with stationary . Is your job now anything like what you wanted to do ? thanks

i wanted to be a nurse when i was 6-7 , at 10 i wanted to be a popstar and used to sit in the garden singing hoping to be discovered but it never happened. at 13 i used to imagine what my kids would look like, i wanted a boy with blonde hair, blue eye and a few freckles, i got a boy with blonde hair, green eyes and a few freckles, close enough eh?.

I had my heart set on being an electrician,but my parents had other ideas and sent me away to naval school at Ganges when I was 15,I hated every minute of it although it taught me discipiline which was useful in adult life, after 10 years service in the R.N. I became a cvilian again after numerous jobs, I eventually became a Postman for 33 years and enjoyed every minute of the job.So my life wasnt wasted.I suppose whats for you will get.as long as you remember life isnt a rehearsal!! Its for real

I wanted to be a paleontologist for years, and also had a phase of wanting to be a postman. I now work in a theatre and I'm starting a PGCE to train as a teacher in September.

Good question inej. When I was young I hated school with a vengence but had always dreamed of becoming a secretary - saw it as very glam and sophisticated! I left school at 14 without qualifications and literally worked my way to achieving my ambition. My teachers all said I would never amount to anything as I was too rebellious. 35 years later happy to say I am still a secretary, it isn't, and has never been glamorous, but I love every minute and have never once woken up thinking I wished I was doing something else. I consider myself very lucky.

Since getting my first computer when I was 7 I wanted to be a computer programmer... a games programmer in particular.

I am a Software Developer now... which is great (playing with computers is still as enjoyable 23 years on!). Still would love to get into games development though.
