Were they punctual?
Were they honest? (essential if handling money)?
Able to work on their own initiative?
Conscientious?
Had a good working relationship with colleagues and able to work as part of a team?
Capable of further developoment?

Questions may well depend on the level of job being offered. A senior management position would not expect somebody to be punctual as they'd probably be working all the hours in the day !
