Something extra to boost my income?

Hi, My partner and I are currently looking for our first place. The mortgage lender we went to last year said the highest we could borrow is �123,000. However, a friend has now told me that this year they have changed it so it is not based on your salaries, but what you can afford to pay back. They can borrow about �160,000 because one of them cuts grass for people at weekends. As this is the case, I would like to do something that would boost my income. I have thought about being an Avon distributor but would be grateful of any other ideas.

you would prob get that difference in mortgage amount offered simply by shopping around for a different mortage lender, Northern Rock springs to mind - as mowing lawns is so temp and seasonal and irregular it won't really affect an underlenders calculation very much (though i am only guessing)

You could do some work as a librarian, but you'll have to do it on the quiet.
