i need help with solving the following equations and a simple way to work them out

1.a+4=4a-2

2.6(x-4)=18

3.x+7 over 3 = 8

1. a = 2. a+4 (2+4) = 6 and 4a (4x2) -2 = 6

2. x = 7. 6x(7-4) = 18

Can't help with the third one, my brains not fully awake!

Third one. If you mean (x+7) divided by 3 = 8 then the answer is 17.

If you mean x+(7 divided by 3) = 8 then the answer is 6 and two-thirds.
