Not much difference as far as I am aware so pick the one that will be most useful for any degree course you are considering or the one you would perform better in and/or would enjoy most
I did both for my a'levels and loved them both. But as suzyboo says, much depends on what you want to go on to do.
History- (as far as I know) gives you more scope for your degree, from going on to being a teacher, Professor to a journalist...

(Useless Fact- Historians never have to retire!)
