Average travelling distance to work?

Have any figures ever been published regarding the average distance that employees in England travel to work?

Hi.
I have often thought about this, as I used to travel approx 130 miles to work and home each day. This would take me approx 1.5 hrs each way. However discussed this with a friend of mine, who is a Police Officer and he has stated that he can be placed no further than 45 minutes from home. Makes sense really as to how, are able to produce your full potential at work. Needless to say I was fortunate to find employment closer to home. However this was after weighing up the pros and cons of travelling against wages and sanity. Work/life balance I suppose!
