exam governing bodies and results

i finished school over 10 years ago but need to find out exactly what i got in my GCSE's (i can't remember!) and which governing bodies awarded those sunbjects. can anybody tell me how i can find out?

i also contacted the people who sent out the application form and pointed out that it wasnt suitable for mature applicants who had no idea about governing bodies and i was told not to worry about filling in that bit - so i didnt :)

I think you are getting your governing body and examinations boards mixed up. The governing body is who oversees the running of the school.
You need to first contact your old school and ask them if they have any information. Certainly at the school where I work we have exam results from at least 25 years ago in the archive. They should be able to give you the examination board whose exams you sat. They will never re-issue a certificate again but would give you written confirmation of your results.
