Tens of thousands back calls to rejoin the EU as a petition racks up thousands of signatures. MPs will certainly have to debate this call in the commons, now that enough signatures have been made.

Pressure from who? Do you have any supporting material for this fantasy?

I don't like starmer and i disagree with virtually all of his programme but i do not get the impression that he is stupid. he would have to be an utter fool to listen to any of this.

Maybe... give it a rest ?

// i do not get the impression that he is stupid//

I do.

The petition calls for Starmer to apply to join the EU as full members as soon as possible..in order to boost the economy and increase global influence. Looks like there is light at the end of that dark tunnel at last.

Must read the "Independent " more often. I love this bit of news .        *Sunlit Uplands* Here we come ******At last..Whoopee.🤣

Groundhog day, again......already?

Gulliver  I asked the following on another posting but in case you don't follow it up  on that one one I ask again.

Gulliver 10.35  Sometime ago I asked why you keep on about Brexit when you purport not to live in this country, and you said that it still had affected your life in the sunnier climate you live in.  I asked you to give at least 2 examples of how, and I am still waiting.  Perhaps you could now oblige, if not I suggest that you forget all about Brexit, because nothing aint going to change.

//MPs will certainly have to debate this call in the commons, now that enough signatures have been made.//

I'm not sure why, as the same article you retyped bits of text from also says  36000 have signed it  and "With 100,000 signatures a petition is considered for debate in parliament,".  So they're still 64000 signatures short.

gramps gulliver has never answer a follow up, entered into debate or posted a link. He just posts to troll and seems to have the support of the management.

well if he listens to this pressure to rejoin then we will know for sure naomi lol. there is no upside to rejoining now and i say that as someone who was extremely anti-brexit.

//MPs will certainly have to debate this call in the commons, now that enough signatures have been made.//

Enough signatures haven't 'been made'.  Although the government must respond after 10,000 signatures, they are not obliged to debate it.  The petition has reached 36,000 signatures - to be considered for debate in parliament it needs 100,000.

//Must read the "Independent " more often.//

If you do, try really reading it.  You'll save yourself a lot of unnecessary excitement.

Another one of your fantasies then, Gulliver?

even if they get enough signatures it just means a "debate" which will last 5 minutes. Neither side thinks rejoining is feasible. Anyone with any sense can see it's a non starter. Even arch remoaners like untitled can see the folly.

11:35 yep he sits in his mums attic in his Y fronts with posters of Boris on the walls dreaming of greatness. PMSL!

Tens of thousands not the hundreds of thousands needed so as usual nothing to see.  You will have to sign it many more times for it just to get a couple of minutes in parliament.  Boris has a piece of cake and you are there for months moaning about it but when Reeves exaggerates her CV not a peep from you.

From the one who will not debate at all.  LOL.
