Double time

Does working on Boxing Day pay double time or is it at your employers discretion.

Totally at your employer's discretion - or what his contract says if it goes into that detail.

A lot of employers do pay double time but it's not enshrined in law.

You may not get paid extra but my sister works Boxing Day and she gets two days holiday as a reward to be taken at a later date.
